Baptized Christians of all denominations are welcome
to receive communion at St. Augustine.
You are invited to come to church on Saturday, February 3 at 5:30 p.m. for our Healing Service. The service includes healing of mind, body, and spirit through laying on of hands, prayers, and annointing with holy oil. Holy Eucharist will also be celebrated at this peaceful service.
Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
On Tuesday, February 13, stop by St. Augie's for our annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper! For a suggested donation of $5 (free for preschoolers), you can have all the plain, blueberry, chocolate chip, or apple pancakes you can eat, plus delicious sausages, and an assortment of drinks. Gentleman Jim will be there, making balloon animals for kids of all ages. This event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for an evening of good food and great fun!
The season of Lent begins with our Ash Wednesday services. Services with Holy Communion and ashes will be held at 1 p.m. in the afternoon, and at 7 p.m. in the evening.
Stations of the Cross
Fr. Bill will lead a service of the Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent, beginning February 16. The service, which starts at 7 p.m., is a meditation on fourteen incidents depicting the walk of Jesus Christ to his death on the cross. Everyone is invited to attend this time of devotion and personal reflection.
NOOMA Video Discussion Series
On Mondays and Tuesdays during Lent, Fr. Bill will lead a discussion using the NOOMA video series. NOOMA videos promote spiritual reflections on individual life experiences. The videos are independent of each other, so please feel welcome to attend when you can. The sessions start on Monday, February 19, and will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the undercroft. Butter Braid Fundraiser
Our Martha Circle women's group will be selling Butter Braid pastries this month as a fundraiser for their church events and community outreach projects. The sale starts on Sunday February 18. Butter Braids come in many flavors and are $14-15 each. More information is in the church newsletter.
Our children's service has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 11 at 10 a.m. All children will meet in the sanctuary that morning.
Chili Lunch Fundraiser
Our Youth Group Chili Lunch fundraiser has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 11, during Coffee Hour. The group will be serving chili, hot dogs, chips, veggies, and dessert for a free-will offering to our Waycross Campership Fund. The fund pays for church youth with perfect Sunday School attendance to spend a week at camp. Mark your calendar for this delicious and fun event!
